Melanie Scofield is an experienced public relations executive and professional communicator with 20 years of experience in public relations, media relations and corporate communications. She has worked in the public, not-for-profit and private sectors, giving her a unique breadth of experience. Areas of particular expertise include health care, government and social services. In the past few years, Melanie has provided strategic communications consulting services to Sinai Health System, Lawrence Hall Youth Services, the Chicago Community Trust, the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago and the Illinois Arts Alliance, among others. Melanie has extensive experience in the health and not-for-profit fields, having served as Media Relations Manager for the Illinois Department of Public Aid; Manager of Communications for Greater Southeast Healthcare System in Washington, D.C.; and Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Hospice and Palliative Care of Metropolitan Washington before launching a public relations consulting practice in Washington D.C. in 1999.
